Opening reception: Friday, May 31st 5 - 7 PM
BLOOM AND GROW is a solo exhibition of works by Katelynn Noel Knick at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. This exhibition features over 20 paintings exploring color, movement, and memory.
The title “bloom and grow” refers to the folk song Edelweiss celebrating the Austrian flower. I spent a lot of my youth attending a Girl Scout summer camp in western Oklahoma. Singing was a tradition after every meal on the back porch of the dining hall and every week at our closing campfire ceremony. I remember singing this song and feeling like it was a lullaby to nature, an ode to growth, and a warm welcome to a familiar friend.
Opening reception will be Friday, May 31st, 5:30 - 6:30 PM CST and will be free to the public to attend. The reception and exhibition is located at the south end of the Crystal Bridge, in the VIsitor’s Center Lobby.

Artster Oklahoma is a collaborative project showcasing artists in Oklahoma.
The term Artster refers to an individual who chooses a culturally rich lifestyle and maintains a great admiration for various forms of art. Informed and typically altruistic by nature, this individual believes in the power of creative appreciation and collaboration as a means to benefit humanity.
Michelle LaVasque and Espanta Steppe set out to find and connect with other Oklahoma artists, artisans, and craftsmen. They craved to learn about talent, the We process, and the human story. Usually, the artists work is on exhibit with only a brief glance at the artists themselves. In this exhibit, the artists are the central focus. They are chronicled at work in their studios through photographs and narratives in the book Artster Oklahoma.
Selected photographs from the book and individual artists’ work will be on exhibit from Feb 21st to May 19th of 2019 in the Tulsa World | Lorton Family gallery located on the third floor.
Featured in our gallery for the month of February is the work of Oklahoma artists Katelynn Noel Knick and Brooke Rowlands.

Presenting a talk and discussion about being a part of a creative couple and navigating the balance between art, work and everything in between.
I will be on the panel for the "Café Society: OKC Art Scene - Past, Present & Future" hosted by Artspace At Untitled. I will talk about the creation of Art Group, it's mission, and why we formed the collective and it's importance for emerging artists in OKC.
Art Group is a collective of emerging artists in the OKC metro area who have gathered to create a community centered around discussing and creating contemporary art. Our goal is to help artists develop their artwork, build the needed skills for continuing their practice, and share resources to establish sustainable careers as artists.
The collective was created in November of 2017 by artists Katelynn Noel Knick and Virginia Sitzes and has grown to 30 members.
Art Group Group Show is the first multi-artist exhibition organized by the collective. The event will be hosted by Skyline Ink in their newly renovated location. The event will feature an exhibition, art market, food, and bands. The event is free and open to the public.
